SUMMARY OF DAMAGE AND RESPONSE/RECOVERY ACTIONS

HIGHLIGHTS
Damage and sector assessments continue.

Urgent needs as at September 28th are mainly for the following:

  • Generators
  • 15 Water tanks
  • Animal feed
  • Plastic pipes (1 – 1.5m in diameter)

Hurricane Joaquin - Situation Report #5 as of 6:00 pm on October 7th, 2015

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • CDEMA Executive Director holds high level consultations in Nassau
  • CDEMA RNAT arrives in Nassau and deployed to affected family Islands
  • Initial reports from Rapid Damage and Needs Assessments Teams for Crooked Island and Long Island received.

Hurricane Joaquin - Situation Report #6 as of 6:00 pm on October 8th, 2015

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • CDEMA RNAT concludes field assessments in affected family Islands
  • Initial situation overview completed for Turks and Caicos Islands and detailed damage assessments ongoing
  • CDEMA Executive Director continues high level consultations in Nassau

Hurricane Joaquin - Situation Report #7 as of 3:30 pm on October 9th 2015

HIGHLIGHTS on Impacts in Haiti (ONLY) as at Monday 5th October 2015:

  • 4 temporary shelters closed in the north-west and Nippes
  • 110 mattresses, 100 hygiene kits, 50 sheets and 250 food kits were distributed to evacuees in Port-de-Paix from the Civil Protection Directorate contingency stock
  • About 900 families in the areas of Artibonite, Nippes, North-West and South affected and 1 killed in Petit-Trou de Nippes
  • 332 families from Gonaives, Anse-Rouge and Gors Morne were affected in Upper Artibonite
