Rodney Bay, Saint Lucia, November 28, 2024 – From November 25th to 29th, 2024, the Caribbean Institute for Meteorology and Hydrology (CIMH), in collaboration with the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), the Columbia Climate School International Research Institute for Climate and Society and the Saint Lucia Meteorological Service, will host the 2024-25 Dry Season Caribbean Climate Outlook Forum (CariCOF) at Bay Gardens Hotel in Rodney Bay.
Friday October 4th, 2024 – (St. Vincent and the Grenadines) –– The CARICOM Development Fund (CDF) signed a grant agreement with the Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines for additional financing of approximately EC$675,000 or US$250,000 from its Enhanced Emergency Disaster Assistance Facility (EEDAF) to assist recovery efforts following the devastating impact of Hurricane Beryl on July 1st, 2024.
Belmopan, Belize May 15, 2024 – The National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO) in Belize recently hosted its Comprehensive Disaster Management (CDM) Validation Workshop supported by the CDEMA Coordinating Unit, to assess the country’s progress at each phase of the disaster management cycle, guided by the CDM Audit Tool. On May 8th, 2024, over 60 stakeholders came together for the workshop, which was one of four in-country audits being undertaken through CDEMA’s Building Resilience in the CARIFORUM States to Disaster Risks and Climate Change Impacts (BRICS) Programme funded by the European Union.
