Bridgetown, Barbados, November 26, 2010 (CDEMA) -The Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) will once again be commemorating the anniversary of the November 29, 2007 earthquake as Caribbean Earthquake Safety Day. Staff of the CDEMA Coordinating Unit will participate in an earthquake exercise “Exercise Shake-Up” today, Friday November 26, 2010.

CDEMA wishes to advise that its offices will be closed on Monday, November 29, 2010 at 11:00 am to enable staff to attend the funeral service of our beloved staff member Ms. Sandra Lewis.
The office will also be closed on Tuesday November 30, 2010 which is Independence Day in Barbados. We will reopen on Wednesday, December 1, 2010.
The CDEMA CU wishes to announce with regret, the passing of one of our valued staff members, Ms Sandra Lewis. Ms Lewis passed away on Monday, November 22, 2010 after a brief period of illness.
Sandra worked with CDEMA for approximately five (5) years in various capacities. At the time of her passing she was the Secretary/Administrative Officer on the CDM/HIP Project.
CDEMA mourns this loss with her family and remembers her as a dedicated, committed and loyal staff member, with a vibrant spirit and positive attitude. We will miss her greatly.
