TROPICAL STORM KARL – SITUATION REPORT #1
(Thursday, September 16, 2010 as at 10:00 a.m. AST)

MESSAGE:  Belize reports no major damage from Tropical Storm Karl.

The Event:

Tropical Storm (TS) Karl made landfall in Belize at 7:50 a.m. on Wednesday, September 15, 2010. Winds of approximately 45mph (65 mph near centre), were reported and rainfall was being experienced in the northern sections of Belize.

Flash Flood Event Impacts Virgin Islands Residents

Road Town, Tortola,September 24, 2010 – Response agencies, both government and private and have been extremely active since Sunday's flash flood. On the 19th September 2010, as Hurricane Igor moved northward, it drew most of the moisture from a tropical wave south of the Virgin Islands. This resulted in the showers and intense thunderstorms that affected the local area on Sunday afternoon, causing many areas to experience flash flooding.

Situation Report 1 - Tropical Depression Matthew Impacts Belize (September 25, 2010)

Message:
Belize inundated by heavy rains from Tropical Depression Matthew as it passed over Belize.

Event:
Tropical Depression Matthew made landfall in southern Belize, after crossing Honduras, on Saturday September 25, 2010.  The country experienced heavy rains between 5 – 10 inches during Matthew’s passage causing flooding in low-lying areas.  The ‘All Clear’ for the system was issued at 3:00 p.m. Saturday September 25, 2010. All Emergency Operation Centres (EOCs) were stood down by 5:00 p.m. Saturday September 25, 2010.

Situation Report #1 - Tropical Storm Nicole impact on Jamaica (as of 11.00pm. September 29, 2010)

Message: Tropical Strom Nicole impacted the entire island of Jamaica – 2 confirmed dead and several persons missing

Event
A broad area of low pressure associated with Tropical Storm Nicole has been producing showers over the western Caribbean from September 28, 2010. The entire island of Jamaica experienced rainfall with some sections of the island having up to 9 inches of rainfall over a 12 hour period.

At 5.00 p.m September 29, 2010, weather reports indicated that Nicole had dissipated but forecasted rainy conditions to continue across the island of Jamaica for at least another 48 hours.
