Hurricane Joaquin - Information Note #2 as of 2:00 pm on October 1st, 2015

Message: Joaquin now a Category 4 Hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale. Tropical Storm Warning issued for the Turks and Caicos Islands.

THE SITUATION:
On September 30th, 2015, Hurricane Joaquin became the tenth named hurricane of the 2015 Atlantic Hurricane Season. A Hurricane Warning remains in effect for Central Bahamas, and has been issued for Northwestern Bahamas (including the Abacos, Berry Islands, Eleuthra, Grand Bahama Island and New Providence) and, Southeastern Bahamas (including the Acklins, Crooked Island and Mayaguana). A Hurricane Watch is in effect for Bimini and Andros Island. A Tropical Storm Warning is in effect for the remainder of the southeastern Bahamas now including the Turks and Caicos Islands, and Andros Island.

Tropical Storm Kate - Information Note #1 as of 11:00 am on November 9th, 2015

Message: Tropical Storm Warnings remain in effect for portions of the Bahamas as Depression #12 upgraded to Tropical Storm Kate.

THE SITUATION:
On November 9, 2015, Tropical Storm Kate became the eleventh named Storm of the 2015 Atlantic Hurricane Season. The Government of the Bahamas has issued Tropical Storm Warnings for Central Bahamas and Northwestern Bahamas. A Tropical Storm Warning means that tropical storm conditions are expected somewhere within the warning area, in this case within the next 12 hours.
