CDEMA Public Information Note #4 - Hurricane Danny (as of 4:00 pm on August 22nd, 2015)

Message: Tropical Storm Watch is in effect for Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Montserrat and St Kitts/Nevis as Danny remains on track for the Leeward Islands.

THE SITUATION:

At 2.00 p.m. the center of Hurricane Danny, now a Category 1 Hurricane, was located near latitude 15.5 North and longitude 52.4 West or about 635 miles East of the Lesser Antilles. Maximum sustained winds have decreased to near 85 mph with higher gusts. Hurricane Force winds extend outward from the centre up to 15 miles and tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 60 miles from the center. Danny is moving toward the west-northwest near 12 mph (19 km/h). A turn toward the west and an increase in forward speed are expected later today or tonight. On the forecast track, the center of Danny is expected to approach the Leeward Islands Sunday night or Monday morning.

CDEMA Public Information Note #5 - Tropical Storm Danny (as of 3:00 pm on August 23rd, 2015)

Message: Tropical Storm Warning remains in effect for Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Montserrat and St Kitts/Nevis. Danny is expected to pass near or over portions of the warning area by late tonight or early Monday.

THE SITUATION:

At 2.00 p.m, Sunday, August 23, 2015 the center of Tropical Storm Danny, was located near latitude 18.8 North and longitude 58.1 West or about 260 miles East Southeast of Antigua and 215 miles East of Gaudeloupe.

CDEMA Public Information Note #2 - Tropical Storm Erika (as of 2:00 pm on August 26th, 2015)

Message: Erika expected to reach Leeward Islands tonight. Tropical Storm Warning in effect for Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, British Virgin Islands, Monsterrat and St. Kitts and Nevis.

THE SITUATION:

At 2.00p.m. the centre of Tropical Storm Erika was located near latitude 16.3 North, longitude 58.2 West, and approximately 245 miles east southeast of Antigua. Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 105 miles and primarily to the east of the centre. The system is moving toward the west near 17 mph and a westward to west-north westward motion is expected during the next 48 hours. Maximum sustained winds are reported as near 45mph with higher gusts. Little change in strength is forecast during the next 48 hours.

Hurricane Joaquin - Information Note #1 as of 2:00 pm on September 30th, 2015

Message: Joaquin strengthens and is expected to reach portions of the Bahamas tonight (September 30th, 2015), and Thursday.

THE SITUATION:
On September 30th, 2015, Hurricane Joaquin became the tenth named hurricane of the 2015 Atlantic Hurricane Season. Effective 8:00AM, a Hurricane Warning is in effect for Central Bahamas including Cat Island, the Exumas, Long Island and Rum Cay. A Hurricane Watch is in effect for Northwestern Bahamas including the Abacos, Berry Islands, Bimini, Eleuthra, Grand Bahama Island and New Providence, but excluding Andros Island.
