SITUATION OVERVIEW:

The HNLMS Pelikaan (A804) embarked on its second voyage in support the Hurricane Melissa response effort on November 9th. The vessel is transporting approximately 170 metric tonnes of relief supplies comprising primarily emergency food assistance. The relief cargo onboard was provided by the Barbados Department of Emergency Management (DEM), the International Federation of the Red Cross (IFRC), the Pan American Health Organisation (PAHO), ShelterBox, the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF),and the World Food Programme (WFP).The HNLMS Pelikaan (A804) is expected to arrive in Jamaica on November 12th.
