Situation Report #7 - Flooding in Guyana - as of 22:30 hours, Monday May 22nd, 2017

EVENT:

Flooding in villages in Regions 7 (Cuyuni/Mazaruni) and 8 (Potaro/Siparuni) as a result of heavy rainfall.

PROGNOSIS:

The Guyana Hydrometerological Service has forecasted that cloudy to overcast conditions with light to moderate showers and frequent rains are expected throughout the country tonight. Both flood affected Regions, Regions 7 and 8 may also experience thundershowers.

Situation Report #8 - Flooding in Guyana - as of 19:30 hours, Tuesday May 23rd, 2017

EVENT:

Flooding in villages in Regions 7 (Cuyuni/Mazaruni) and 8 (Potaro/Siparuni) as a result of heavy rainfall.

PROGNOSIS:

The Guyana Hydrometerological Service has forecasted that weak influences of the Inter Tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) are affecting Guyana. A Tropical Wave is anticipated to affect Guyana over the next 12 to 18 hours, after which model forecast suggests that the ITCZ will become more organised, bringing periodic showers and thundershowers over the weekend.

Situation Report #9 - Flooding in Guyana - as of 19:30 hours, Wednesday May 24th, 2017

EVENT:

Flooding in villages in Regions 7 (Cuyuni/Mazaruni) and 8 (Potaro/Siparuni) as a result of heavy rainfall.

PROGNOSIS:

The Guyana Hydrometerological Service has forecasted that partly cloudy to cloudy skies with scattered light to moderate showers can be expected throughout Guyana; some inland and interior locations can expect possible isolated thundershowers. Rainfall is expected to range between 0.0 mm and 25.0 mm (0.0 in and 1.0 in).
