Vacancy - CDEMA - ICT Support Specialist - Deadline October 30th, 2019

The CDEMA Coordinating Unit (CU) is inviting applications for the position of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Support Specialist who will be responsible for providing support to the CDEMA CU users and support the ICT Manager in the provision of ICT Services to the CDEMA Participating States. Compensation:
The compensation will be based on the individual’s qualifications and experience.

Merit Criteria:

1.0 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

1.1 Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent;
1.2 Certification in Network Administration;
1.3 Proven experience with Windows desktop and server operating systems (Active Directory, TCP/IP networking, DHCP, Group Policies, security and authentication);
1.4 Advanced level knowledge of TCP/IP networking concepts and protocols, advanced technical knowledge of common network protocols (DNS, HTTP/HTTPS) and network security concepts;
1.5 A minimum of four (4) years’ experience in a similar ICT Support role;
1.6 Experience developing code in at least one high-level programming language and in automation via scripting/programming (e.g. PowerShell, Python) would be an asset;
1.7 Experience supporting applications/services on one or more cloud environments/platforms (e.g. AWS or Azure) would be an asset;

2.0 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

2.1 Knowledgeable in web and cloud computing technologies and platforms;
2.2 Team player with strong technical and user support skills;
2.3 Hands-on experience in networking and the related networking concepts;
2.4 Ability to design, create, edit, and produce website content using content management systems (such as Joomla or WordPress) would be an asset;
2.5 Ability to configure and administer Linux servers would be an asset
2.6 Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced deadline-oriented environment;
2.7 Demonstrated ability to learn, adapt, drive change and innovate;
2.8 Excellent understanding of the larger ICT landscape;
2.9 Excellent oral and written communication skills;
2.10 Ability to communicate and relate effectively with persons at all levels;
2.11 Flexibility and adaptability;
2.12 Appreciation of workplace diversity.
