CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana, January 29, 2010 - The Bureau of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) has mandated the CARICOM Secretariat to establish a small dedicated unit to co-ordinate CARICOM’s continued assistance to Haiti over the long term in the wake of the catastrophic earthquake which struck that country on 12 January.

Bridgetown, Barbados, October 29, 2009 (CDEMA) - An Earthquake Public Awareness and Education Campaign was launched on Thursday 22 October, 2009 at the National Emergency Management Organisation (NEMO) of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. This Campaign is one of the major activities of the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) implemented Earthquake Readiness Capacity Building Project.
