Port-of-Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, September 20, 2013 -  The UWI Consulting Company with support from the World Trade Organization Chair at UWI and in collaboration with the International Centre for Trade and Sustainable Development (Geneva) and the Trinidad and Tobago Coalition of Service Industries hosted the workshop on Trade Policy, Climate Change and Environmental Sustainability on the 19 and 20 September 2013, at the Kapok Hotel, Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago.

Trincity, Tacrigua, July 23rd, 2013 (ODPM) - Trinidad and Tobago has been identified as a Level 1 or likely to lose more than 80% of its capital infrastructure in a one-in-250 year earthquake according to the United Nations Global Assessment Report (GAR) 2013.

Trincity, Tacrigua, March 6, 2013 (ODPM) - The Office of Disaster Preparedness and Management (ODPM) hosts its 3rd National Disaster Risk Reduction Committee Meeting to re-iterate strategies and initiatives developed after the adoption the International Strategy for Disaster Reduction (ISDR) 2000. This strategy calls for inter-disciplinary involvement to coordinate, guide and implement Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), as such it requires close coordination with strategic disaster management institutions toward setting synchronised objectives.

Trincity, Tacarigua, January 24th, 2013, (ODPM) - The Office of Disaster Preparedness and Management (ODPM) in collaboration with the University of the West Indies Seismic Research Centre has launched its 3rd Annual National Primary Schools Quiz in January 2013. Students have already started to become disaster ready by preparing essays in which they identify ways of preparing themselves and families in the event of a disaster. These essays will be judged by a panel of experts and eight schools will be chosen to participate in the final round on Tuesday 26th February 2013.
