Kingstown, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, April 10th, 2014 (NEMO) - April 13, marks thirty five (35) years since the La Soufriere Volcano erupted in 1979. To commemorate the anniversary and to raise awareness about geological hazards, the National Emergency Management Organisation (NEMO) will collaborate with the Seismic Research Centre (SRC) of The University of the West Indies, the Soufriere Monitoring Unit (SMU) and the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Red Cross Society to host a week of activities during the period April 28 – May 2, 2014.

Kingstown, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, April 8th, 2014 (NEMO) - The National Emergency Management Organisation (NEMO) will host two consultations this week to present a draft Comprehensive Disaster Management (CDM) Policy and Strategy for 2014 - 2023; developed by NEMO in collaboration with the Caribbean Disaster Management Agency (CDEMA).

Kingstown, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, November 15th, 2013 (NEMO) - A number of persons from the Health Sector, the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force, Community Members and Secondary Schools Physical Education Teachers would be involved in a five day Emergency Care and Treatment (ECAT) in Disaster Workshop which will commence on Monday 18th November, 2013.

Kingstown, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, August 2nd, 2013 (NEMO) - Community members from villages throughout St. Vincent and the Grenadines will participate in a one week Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training organized by the National Emergency Management Organisation (NEMO) in conjunction with the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA). The training will be held at the NEMO’s Conference Room from Monday, August 5 to Friday, August 9, 2013.
