Kingstown, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, April 12, 2013 (NEMO) - Teachers and other stakeholders, on mainland St. Vincent will receive training on the techniques to design, implement and evaluate safety plans for Schools during a three day workshop which commenced today at the National Emergency Management Organisation (NEMO) Conference Room.

Kingstown, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, April 12, 2013 (NEMO) - April 13th marks 34 years since the last eruption of the La Soufriere volcano, and the National Emergency Management Organisation (NEMO) will be joined by the Seismic Research Centre (SRC) of The University of the West Indies and the Soufriere Monitoring Unit (SMU) to commemorate the anniversary and to raise awareness of the risk and science associated with an active volcano. This year, NEMO will be targeting primary and secondary school students in communities likely to be impacted by an eruption of La Soufriere. A community meeting will also be held in Chateaubelair on Tuesday evening.

Kingstown, Saint Vincent & the Grenadines, April 5th, 2013 (NEMO) - Teachers and other stakeholders, in Bequia will be given the opportunity to hone their knowledge and techniques to design, implement and evaluate safety plans for Schools. This will take place over a three day period during a school safety course to be held by the National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO) commencing on Monday 8th April, 2013 at the Bequia Anglican Primary School.

Kingstown, Saint Vincent & the Grenadines, June 8, 2012 (NEMO) - The Council of St. Vincent and the Grenadines Organizations of USA, Inc. (COSAGO) will hand over a number of household items to four families, who were affected by the flood in Georgetown 11 - 12 April, 2011. These families were living in the Emergency Shelters in Georgetown but have returned to their homes a few months ago.
