Castries, Saint Lucia, September 9, 2009 (NEMO) - September 9, 2009 marks fifteen years since Tropical Storm Debby struck Saint Lucia.

Tropical Storm Debby, was the fourth named storm of the 1994 Atlantic hurricane season. Debby lasted only two days, reaching peak winds of 70 mph before being sheared apart on September 11. Despite the short duration, however, the heavy rains and gusty winds from Debby managed to cause nine deaths.

Castries, Saint Lucia, August 31, 2009 (NEMO) - The National Emergency Management Organisation (NEMO) Secretariat, in conjunction with the Ministries of Health and Agriculture, has launched a media campaign against H1N1 Influenza. This is timely, as it is anticipated that with the reopening of school, the potential for H1N1 Influenza outbreaks will increase.
