Farmers have suffered severe losses in the wake of the return of floodwaters in the Mahaica Creek area.

Although the water has begun to recede many still fear that the worst is yet to come as it conjures memories of the massive flooding that hit many areas in January.

Georgetown, Guyana (GINA) January 4, 2006 - Sub-tropical storm Zeta which was ‘tipping’ towards the north easterly coast of South America has shown signs of de-precipitation, and it is likely that there will be some changes in the weather pattern according to Chief Hydrometeorological Officer Dilip Jaigopaul.
