Bridgetown, Barbados, October 13, 2009, (CDEMA) – Representatives from regional institutions which are at the forefront of climate change adaptation and disaster risk related initiatives will convene at the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) Coordinating Unit in Barbados on Thursday, October 15th and Friday, October 16th 2009 to discuss and make recommendations on the implementation of the Mainstreaming Climate Change into Disaster Risk Management for the Caribbean Region (CCDM) Project.

Bridgetown, Barbados, October 5, 2009, (CDEMA) - The Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA), through the CDM Harmonized Implementation Programme (CDM HIP): Phase I, and in collaboration with the National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO) of Belize, will conduct a Country Work Programming Workshop from October 6-9, 2009 at NEMO’s headquarters in Belmopan.

Bridgetown, Barbados, June 3, 2009 (Barbados Advocate) - THE Government of Canada has donated $10 963 (just over BBD $18 500) in support of the expansion and upgrading of the Barbados Citizens Band Radio Association’s VHF Repeater Telecommunications Network.
Chargé d’Affaires in the Canadian High Commission, Douglas Holland, revealed that “disaster risk management is a programming priority for the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) in its 10 year strategic framework for the Caribbean region”.
