Bridgetown, Barbados, April 6, 2010 – (CDEMA) – Senior government officials of the Sub-Regional Focal Points (SRFP) under the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) system will meet in Trinidad and Tobago on Wednesday, April 7, 2010 to discuss the strengthening of coordination for disaster response in the eighteen Participating States.

Witnessing the presentation are Dr Didacus Jules (L), CXC Registrar and Anderson Marshall(R), Head of Corporate Services and other CXC StaffBridgetown, Barbados Friday 12, 2010 ( CXC, CDEMA) - Members of staff of the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) on Friday 12th February presented a cheque for BDS$6000.00 to the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA).

The cheque was presented by Mrs Mildren Daniel, a Records Supervisor at CXC to Mrs Elizabeth Riley, Deputy Executive Director (Acting) of CDEMA.

The funds were raised by members of CXC staff over a two-week period through individual donations.

Dr Didacus Jules, CXC Registrar, who witnessed the presentation, said “the funds were collected from members of CXC staff who wanted to express their solidarity with our Haitian brothers and sisters in their time of need.”
