Vacancy Notice - EKACDM, UWI, Mona - Initiative Associate - Deadline, November 18th, 2016

The "Enhancing Knowledge and Application of Comprehensive Disaster Management (EKACDM)" Initiative is a five-year project whose ultimate outcome is the implementation of the 2007 CARICOM Enhanced Comprehensive Disaster Management (CDM) Strategy and Programme Framework.

The Initiative now invites applications for the post of Initiative Associate to be submited, including Cover Letter and Curriculum Vitae to [email protected] with a copy sent to [email protected] with Application for the Position of Initiative Associate in the subject line. Deadline for submission of applications is November 18th, 2016.

CDEMA joins international community in commemorating World Tsunami Awareness Day 2016

For the first time, World Tsunami Awareness Day (WTAD) is being commemorated all around the world in order to raise awareness on the importance of tsunami preparedness and to reaffirm the inherent links between disaster risk reduction and sustainable development. CDEMA joins with its national, regional and international partners in recognising and celebrating WTAD 2016. This year the events focus on effective education and evacuation drills. One example from the Caribbean and Adjacent Regions is the Caribe Wave Exercise, which happens every year.

Hurricane Matthew - Situation Report #16 as of 6:00pm on October 31st, 2016

Message: The islands of The Bahamas and Haiti suffered severe impact from the passage of Hurricane Matthew, the 5th named Hurricane of the 2016 Atlantic Hurricane season. As a result, the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) through the Regional Response Mechanism (RRM) facilitated the coordination and deployment of regional specialized response teams to provide operational support and damage/needs assessments in the most affected areas in Haiti and The Bahamas. The Caribbean Community will also make targeted relief interventions in the affected State of Haiti.

Procurement of furniture for the Belize Bureau of Standards

The CARICOM Regional Organisation for Standards and Quality is issuing this Request for Quotation (RFP) to solicit proposals from qualified suppliers for the supply of furniture for the Belize Bureau of Standards.
