St. George's, Grenada, September 13, 2006, (NaDMA) - The St. George’s North East District Disaster Management Committee says it plans to stage more public activities geared at raising awareness.

Grenada shelter management training to begin PDF Print E-mail

St. George's, Grenada, February 9, 2007 (NaDMA) - Shelter Managers on Districts Disaster Committees across the country are expected to benefit from a series of training workshops starting this month and continuing until July.

Scientists deploy new real-time monitoring station at Kick ‘em Jenny in Grenada PDF Print E-mail

St. George's Grenada, May 16, 2007 (NaDMA) - A team of scientists has installed a new underwater earthquake monitoring system on the Kick ‘em Jenny submarine volcano off the north coast of Grenada.

The installation is part of a project to develop new technology for earthquake monitoring of coastal areas and, if successful, should significantly improve how the volcano is monitored.

St. George's Grenada, May 16, 2007 (NaDMA) - Roughly two weeks before the official start of the new Hurricane season, Disaster Officials are taking no chances in their efforts to ensure that shelters would be well coordinated in the event of a Hurricane.

NaDMA stages motorcade for Disaster Awareness Week PDF Print E-mail

St. George's Grenada, June 6, 2007 (NaDMA) - The National Disaster Management Agency (NaDMA) on Sunday staged what by all accounts appeared to have been another successful round the island motorcade.

The motorcade, one of the activities of Disaster Awareness Week, was also timed to coincide with the start of the Hurricane season.

Oxfam creating disaster plan for Grenada and Windwards PDF Print E-mail

St. George's, Grenada, April 5, 2007 (NaDMA) - A team from the international aid agency Oxfam has been visiting Grenada and talking with stakeholders to see how best assistance can be channeled to the island in the event of a natural disaster.

The team comprised Siuwa Iyahen, project Officer in the English Speak Caribbean and Hauke Hoops, regional humanitarian coordinator for Central America, Mexico and the Caribbean.
