Message: A strong tropical wave located about 225 miles southeast of Barbados at 2.00pm is forecasted to develop into a tropical storm within the next 48 hours. The system has the potential to be a dangerous storm for the islands of the eastern and central Caribbean.

It is presently located near 9.7N and 55.4W with winds near 30mph and is moving west northwestward at 15 to 20 miles per hour. It is expected to bring very heavy rain tonight and Saturday to the northern coast of South America and most of the Lesser Antilles

Warnings may be required for portions of the Windward Islands later this evening.

Participating States in the threatened areas are encouraged to liaise with their local meteorological offices for specific local information on this system.
