Youth Session

The theme for this year's CDM Conference “Strengthening CDM through Youth and Community Empowerment” is meant to promote public outreach and greater awareness to disaster management amongst communities and youth to allow them to build resilience to hazard.

The main purpose of involving the youth in pre-conference disaster management activities and of hosting this youth session at the CDM Conference will be to promote the involvement and the enhancement of knowledge of youth in regional development and comprehensive disaster management. CDM implementation continues to focus on community resilience and involvement at the local level. The youth session seeks to acknowledge the need for increased knowledge and participation in disaster mitigation and management by the next generation.
