STRUCTURE OF THE CONFERENCE

In keeping with the Conference theme and to achieve conference objectives, the Conference is structured in four parts.

Part One will consist of Professional Development Sessions targeting specific sub-groups,

Part Two will focus on PRM initiatives for youth and communities,

Part Three will focus on The Promotion of Knowledge sharing on Disaster Risk Management Scientific Data. Specific attention will be placed on climate change and its growing importance in disaster risk management.

Part Four will highlight the progress of CDM implementation, including a multi sectoral approach to maintaining Disaster Risk Management.

This year’s conference will also include the Disaster Management Trade Fair and Exposition that will highlight scientific and social advances in the field along with the promotion of disaster mitigation and management products and services.

Another key element of this year’s conference will be a Youth Programme which will focus on promoting awareness and educating the regions next generation. This programme will include a CDEMA poster competition and a CDEMA essay competition with a culmination of these activities to be hosted at the conference. This will entail the participation of youth from the host country and the winners of the competitions.
