The CSSSC is chaired by the Sector Lead for the Civil Society Sector, the Caribbean Policy Development Centre (CPDC). The CSSSC also has a co-chair, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC). The Sector Lead and Co-Chair are supported by the members of the Sector Sub-Committee to facilitate a wider inclusion of relevant stakeholders in the CDM planning and implementation process at the sectoral level.  The other members of the CSSSC are:

  1. Adventist Development and Relief Agency
  2. Caribbean Conference of Churches (CCC)
  3. Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS)
  4. Caribbean confederation of Credit Unions (CCCU)
  5. Help Age
  6. Technical Representative from Montserrat/Suriname
  7. CDEMA CU Representative

The CDEMA CU functions as the Secretary for the CSSSC.

The CSSSC is charged with guiding CDM implementation in the Civil Society sector. The functions of the CSSSC, as identified in its TOR, are:

  1. To provide overall guidance at the Civil Society sector level to facilitate the mainstreaming of CDM at the national and regional levels.
  2. To facilitate effective coordination and harmonization of CDM implementation at the Civil Society sector level
  3. To articulate priority CDM results for the sector
  4. Provide technical input to harmonize sector work programmes towards the achievement of the prioritized CDM results.
  5. Agree on and utilize a mechanism for monitoring, evaluating and reporting on CDM implementation at the sector level
  6. Report on progress towards the achievement of results identified in the mainstreaming of CDM at the sector level.
  7. Identify challenges and gaps regarding the implementation of CDM at the sector level.
  8. Discuss and address any other issue(s) pertinent to the good governance and sustainability of CDM implementation at the sector level.
  9. Identify opportunities for inter and intra sectoral linkages to avoid duplication of work and ensure efforts are complimentary.
  10. Nurture opportunities for synergies between development partner representatives, participating states, private sector, civil society and other relevant stakeholders responsible for the mainstreaming the enhanced CDM strategy at the sector level.
