The Directorate of Civil Protection in Haiti has stated that several activities have been planned for this year’s observation of the International Day for Disaster Reduction (IDDR) on Thursday, 13th October.
Activities have been planned for the regions across the country and some events will be held in the days leading up to IDDR. Activities planned include:
• A march for Civil Protection and Disaster Reduction in the Northern Region
• Several radio and TV programs on the thematic area for 2011 IDDR “Youth and Disaster Risk Reduction
• Conference in schools on Risk and Disaster Reduction
• Conference for Businessmen, Socio-Professionals on Best Practices for Building Construction
