Forty Senior Public Officers to be trained in Comprehensive Disaster Management

The main objectives of this workshops is to sensitize Senior Civil Servants on Comprehensive Disaster Management, understanding the work of NEMO and the role of each department in Disaster Management at the national level. Also to encourage departments to develop their Disaster Risk Management plans.

This workshop which is the second of a series of Workshops to be held by the National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO) in collaboration with the Service Commissions Department will take place at NEMO's Conference Room beginning at 8:30 a.m.

The Comprehensive Disaster Management (CDM) training for the Public Service was officially launched on October 10, 2011 at the Services Commissions Department Training Room, followed by a two day training workshop for thirty-two liaison officers to increase collaboration with NEMO and key agencies in CDM and in keeping with the National Emergency and Disaster Management Act No. 15 of 2006 section 26.1.
