Workshop on disaster risk management and the tourism sector

The aim of this workshop is to begin the process of developing Jamaica’s DRM and Climate Change Adaptation [CCA] Strategy for the Tourism Sector and lay the foundation for the development of the corresponding National Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting Framework. The Strategy seeks to build a culture of natural hazard risk reduction within the Caribbean tourism sector in order to minimize potential deaths, injuries, loss of property, livelihoods, economic activity and damage to the environment through strengthening capacity for mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery.

The workshop will highlight the work developed under the Regional Monitoring & Evaluation System for Disaster Risk Management and Climate Change Adaptation in the Caribbean Tourism Sector project (ATN/OC-12008-RG) which is being funded by the Inter-American Development Bank (as a Regional Public Good) and executed by CDEMA.
