Purpose and Objectives:
To support small-scale, community-based projects that reduce disaster risk in vulnerable communities.
Implementation arrangements:
- Proposals are requested in September and March of each year.
- Projects are expected to fall within the CAD $25,000 to CAD $75,000 range.
- Proposals will be accepted from eligible non-governmental organizations (NGOs), civil society organizations (CSOs), voluntary organizations, and government agencies in the 12 CARICOM member states.
- Proposals will be reviewed on a competitive basis by a Project Steering Committee (PSC).
- The final decision on the selection of projects for funding will be made by the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development (DFATD) Canada.
- Funds will be dispersed to the successful project organizations following the signing of the Contribution Agreement (contract) with DFATD.
